Some weddings have a certain personality that you just can't replicate.
Jordan and Austin's was one of those weddings.
A little vintage, a little unconventional, and full of rich colors, interesting textures, and personal details. Their wedding was the perfect opportunity to play with a moodier, more eclectic design style against the beautiful Spanish architecture of Tlaquepaque.
And I absolutely loved how it came together.

A LITTLE VINTAGE, A LITTLE DRAMA
For Jordan and Austin, we embraced a rich red color palette with a mix of romantic and unexpected details.
Rather than keeping everything soft and neutral, we leaned into bold floral arrangements, textured fabrics, and a slightly nostalgic aesthetic that felt almost cinematic.
We incorporated deep red sequined linens, candlelight, and floral arrangements filled with roses, anthuriums, and cascading amaranthus.

The flowers were one of my favorite parts of the design.
I loved the contrast between the structured, glossy anthuriums and the softer, cascading amaranthus. They brought so much personality to the arrangements without feeling overly traditional.

Paired with the warm architecture of Tlaquepaque, the entire design felt like something out of a vintage editorial.
THE DETAILS THAT MADE IT THEIRS
One thing I always try to accomplish with my weddings is making sure the design actually reflects the couple.
Not just what's trending on Pinterest.
Jordan and Austin's wedding had so many fun little details that gave it personality.
Their vintage-inspired wedding cake, complete with delicate piping and their initials, fit perfectly into the overall aesthetic. We paired it with the rich red sequined linens, dramatic florals, and little personal touches that made the reception feel collected rather than overly styled.

I especially loved how the deep reds played against the couple's ivory wedding attire.

Everything photographed so beautifully.

And honestly, sometimes it's those unexpected combinations that make a wedding memorable.
AN INTIMATE CELEBRATION UNDER THE SEDONA SKY
As the sun went down, the entire atmosphere shifted.
The surrounding red rocks became silhouettes against the evening sky, the string lights started glowing, and the black-and-white checkered dance floor became a focal point of the celebration.

I love incorporating checkered dance floors into designs because they bring a little bit of playfulness without taking away from the elegance of the event.
For Jordan and Austin, it was the perfect contrast to the romantic florals and vintage-inspired details.
We also incorporated wine barrels and candlelight throughout the outdoor space, embracing the rustic character of Sedona while keeping the design intentional.
There was something so beautiful about seeing all of those elements come together against the natural landscape.
A WEDDING THAT DIDN'T FOLLOW THE RULES
One of my favorite things about Jordan and Austin's wedding was that it didn't feel like we were trying to recreate anyone else's.
The combination of vintage details, bold red florals, sequins, and checkered flooring wasn't necessarily what you'd expect from a traditional Sedona wedding.
And that's exactly why I loved it.

I think wedding design becomes so much more interesting when couples are willing to embrace the things they genuinely love, even when those things don't fit into one specific aesthetic category.
You can have romantic florals and a funky dance floor.
You can mix sequins with vintage details.
You can create something elegant without making it feel overly formal.
And you can absolutely have a wedding that feels a little different from everything else you've seen.
MADE TO LEAVE YOU IN AWE
Jordan and Austin's wedding was such a fun reminder of why I love designing celebrations that feel personal rather than predictable.
From the dramatic red florals to the vintage-inspired cake and the dance floor beneath the Sedona sky, every detail contributed to a celebration that felt entirely their own.

And getting to see it all captured through Dana Maruna's beautiful photography made it even more special.
Her nostalgic, film-inspired photography style complemented the entire design so perfectly.
This is the kind of wedding that makes me excited to keep creating, experimenting, and pushing beyond traditional wedding aesthetics.
Because sometimes the most beautiful designs are the ones that break a few rules.
With love,
Arabella
